PhD in Computer Science

The LIA offers Master's students the possibility of continuing their studies in the framework of a doctorate (Bac+8). This pursuit is obviously intended for students who have graduated from a Master in computer science at Avignon University, but is also offered to any student coming from French or foreign universities.

To facilitate this continuation of studies and allow students to discover the world of research, the internship of 2^e year internship, generally carried out in a company, can be carried out within the laboratory under the supervision of a teacher-researcher and on one of theirresearch topics.

At the end of the internship and subject to obtaining a thesis funding (the search for funding is generally left to the teacher-researchers), the student may continue their research work for 3 years in the laboratory. Obtaining the PhD degree and the title of "Doctor of Science, Computer Science Specialty" is subject to the writing of a thesis document, validated by two rapporteurs in the field, and to a thesis defense before a jury of experts.
