Doctorate in Computer Science

The LIA offers Master's students the possibility of continuing their studies in the framework of a doctorate (Bac+8). This pursuit is obviously intended for students who have graduated from a Master's degree in computer science at the University of Avignon, but it is also open to any student from French or foreign universities.

To facilitate this pursuit of studies and to allow students to discover the world of research, the 2-year course^e year MasterThis is usually done in-house and can be done in the laboratory under the direction of a teacher-researcher and on one of his or her research themes.

At the end of the course and subject to obtaining a thesis grant (the search for financing is generally left to the teachers-researchers), the student will be able to continue his research work for 3 years in the laboratory. The obtaining of the doctoral degree and the title of "Doctor of Science, Computer Science speciality" is subject to the writing of a thesis document, validated by two rapporteurs in the field, and to a thesis defense before a jury of experts.
