Doctorate in Computer Science

Research training

The LIA offers Master's students who so wish the opportunity to continue their studies as part of a doctorate (Bac+8). This course is obviously aimed at students who have completed a Master's degree in computer science at the University of Avignon, but is also open to students from other universities in France and abroad.

To make it easier for students to continue their studies and discover the world of research, the 2-year coursee year MasterThis is usually done in-house and can be done in the laboratory under the supervision of a teacher-researcher and on one of his or her research themes.

At the end of the course, and subject to obtaining a thesis grant (funding is generally the responsibility of the lecturer-researchers), the student will be able to continue his or her research work for 3 years in the laboratory. To obtain a doctorate and the title of "Doctor of Science, specialising in Computer Science", students must write a thesis document, validated by two referees in the field, and defend their thesis before a panel of experts.
