High-level IT training in the PACA region and a research laboratory at the cutting edge of technology...

The Centre d'Enseignement et de Recherche en Informatique (CERI) brings together in the same building and under a common structure all the computer science courses ofAvignon University (Licence, Master, PhD) and the Avignon Computer Laboratory (LIA). A virtual visit of the CERI premises is available at https://www.vip-studio360.fr/galerie360/visites/vv-universite-avignon/vv-ufr-c.html

A privileged working environment...

The Centre d'Enseignement et de Recherche en Informatique (CERI) has its own premises. It hosts, on the one hand, all the computer training (Licence, Master, Doctorat) and, on the other hand, the Avignon Computer Laboratory (LIA). This proximity allows the LIA's teacher-researchers involved in each of the courses to be in contact with the students and to be able to permanent contact with their students, providing them with a optimal support.

The CERI is located on a privileged site, the Agroparc siteThe building is located on the Jean-Henri Fabre campus, 10 minutes from Avignon and 10 minutes from the A7 motorway (connecting Marseille and Valence in 1 hour).

The Agroparc siteThe CERI, which is in full expansion, today hosts more than 180 companies (including McCormick, Lafarge, GSE, SGCIO/St Gobain, Naturex, etc.), 11 training institutes (including the UFR-ip Sciences, Technologies, Health of Avignon University to which the CERI belongs) and 6 research centres (including the LIA). It provides students with an on-site university restaurant, of different student residences for housing (CROUS and private), a bus service to the city centre every 15 minutes, and various shops (restaurants, bakeries, banks, post offices, pharmacies, etc.).

CERI is certified ISO 9001 for its Bachelor's and Master's courses and for the follow-up of doctoral students. See our quality policy for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The governance of CERI is based on the following three tips:

  • the Improvement Council (twice a year) which aims to monitor the discipline and the professions, the study courses and the professional integration of the students,
  • the Pedagogical Council (3 times a year) which deals with the life of the training courses delivered within the CERI,
  • the Scientific Council (1 per month) which governs the organisation of the CERI Research Laboratory (the LIA) and its activities.
